Woke up @ 6:45 am. Had Campbell's Instant Soup for breakfast. Mei came along. Went Mount Elizabeth hospital to visit Auntie Soh Heng. Dropped Mei @ City Hall Station. Bought Bee Hoon w Luncheon Meat + Lor Mai Kai for breakfast. Finished up my lab exercise for China office. Sent Oyster emails for Gloria. Econnect printer refused to print. It responded to lpstat commands. It responded to direct writes on /dev/ecpp0. The password printing script managed to extract the address and generate a new password. The printer just refused to print. There's CommIT today. Went there to take food back to the pantry @ 11th floor. Boon Choon joined us. We bitched about FPMS. Notified Mindef of my Chongqing trip. Went Fitness First to bathe. Copied a table from LiG Dev DB to LiG DR DB. Took cab to Terminal 2 with Doris & Cai Wei. Gave Ling a call @ the airport. Met Swee Heang @ the airport. Christina & Eng Joo were there too. Bought 2 bottles of Absolut Vanilla & 3 cans of Heineken. Doris was quite hardworking. She prepared her slides at the airport. Gave Cai Wei & Doris a Heineken each. Swee Heang's scissors were confiscated @ the boarding gate. Sat @ seat 15A. Took a few photos on the plane. The fish w rice was nice. Touched down @ 11:45 pm. Messaged Mummy & Ling. Had a good first impression. Even the security guard looked decent. Tiam Chye came with 2 drivers. One is a young man. The other is a young lady called Dan Jing Jing. We went into Jing Jing's car and she fetched us to Mariott Hotel. Service was excellent. Each of us got our own room. Went for a walk after putting my things. Mariott Hotel is actually next to this clubbing area. The name is De2Yi4Shi4Jie4. Went into Soho & Zero Disco. For a Tuesday night, it's actually quite crowded. Got myself a beer (RMB25) @ Zero Disco. Walked back to hotel @ 2:30 am. The streets are still bustling with traffic @ this time. The notorious blaring of horns is omnipresent. There are even bus services @ this time.
[Uncertainty of life]
Somehow I feel that the Chongqing trip will not go as planned. But that's the beauty of life. Last night's soccer session definitely wasn't pre-planned but we had a hell lot of good time. In Chongqing, I'll be actually speaking on a topic that I still don't comprehend fully, speaking to people that I've not met and speaking @ a place that I've not been before. Cai Wei estimated the number of IT Staff to be 9. I don't even know if they will have laptop.
